Saad Bashir is a rising junior in the College at Georgetown University, majoring in Political Economy and minoring in Linguistics. Born and raised in the United States, his family is from Lahore, Pakistan where he often visits during the summers. At Georgetown, he has been heavily involved in both the Georgetown student government and in the international relations club. As a fan of traveling and different cultures, one of his main hobbies is to study languages and while he may not be fluent in almost any of them, he enjoys practicing a variety of languages ranging from Persian to Russian. Saad's other hobbies include Mixed Martial Arts as he plans to join another gym in DC this coming year and experiencing whatever random whacky opportunity he can find. He is looking forward to seeing all the new international faces coming in the Fall so make sure to say hello!

Will is a rising senior in the College, majoring in Biology of Global Health and minoring in Chemistry. Born in Philadelphia and raised in South New Jersey, Will is a U.S. native but feels a strong connection with the Middle East since both of his parents immigrated to the United States from Lebanon. He visits the country every summer and loves to practice his Arabic with anyone willing to practice with him. Will is the treasurer of the Georgetown University Boxing Club, conducts research on traumatic brain injury and neurodegeneration, and is active with the Center for Social Justice doing community service. Will enjoys exploring DC and playing sports with his friends at Georgetown.
Rebekah is a member of the Georgetown University Class of 2020, majoring in Russian. She was born and raised in Virginia. At Georgetown, Rebekah is a member of the Ballroom Dance Team and enjoys traveling to participate in Dancesport competitions. She also spends time tutoring kids in the DC community and is involved in campus ministry. When she's not studying or dancing, Rebekah enjoys relaxing and chatting with her friends. She loves nothing more than curling up with a hot cup of tea on a rainy day.
Nkolé hails from the land that is referred to as The Real Africa, Zambia. He was born and raised in the industrial hub of the nation called The Copperbelt where cultural intersectionality is an integral part of the experience of living there. At Georgetown, Nkolé is studying Biochemistry and Mathematics, as well as pursuing other academic interests that include Spanish. Life outside the classroom involves a lot of sports including soccer and tennis and seeing new places. Having lived in Africa, Europe and now America, he hopes to have at least visited all continents in the next 10 years.
Jeremy is a part of the School of Foreign Service Class of 2020, majoring in International History and pursuing a Classics Certificate. Hailing from the historic Princeton, New Jersey, Jeremy is always ready to defend the state in which he still has the most confidence. At Georgetown, he is on the Board of Directors of the International Relations Club and participates in the Figge Fellows research fellowship. Aside from studying history and classics, Jeremy is learning Russian and has moderate experience with French. Outside of classes, he enjoys cheering for Leeds United, keeping up to date on Central Asian politics, and playing squash recreationally.
Armelle is a rising Sophomore in the College, majoring in biology with a pre-medical focus. She is an international student but has lived in the U.S. for a number of years before attending Georgetown University. Armelle is currently involved in a few groups on campus, including Hoya Taxa, Breaking the Bubble, and STEM Afterschool. She speaks three languages and loves learning new ones. When not engrossed in coursework and extracurricular activities, Armelle can be found out on a run.
Angela Gladkikh is a freshman in the School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Economics. Originally born in Omsk, Angela is a Russian-American who immigrated from Russia and now lives in Santa Barbara, CA. Now at Georgetown University, she is an active member of the International Relations Club. Angela also enjoys exploring the campus and venturing out into the city every other weekend. She can most often be found on Lau 2, mostly talking to people at her table rather than working.
Yu Jung (Kate) Hyun
Kate is a rising Junior studying Economics and Mathematics. Professionally, she wants to use her understanding of economics and data analysis skills to access art markets. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, lived in Japan for two years, in South Korea for twelve years, and Virginia for seven years. She has come to know about Christianity in high school and accepted Jesus as Lord. Her faith has fostered her heart to listen and help other people. She broadens her understanding of God and the world by reading the Bible. In terms of activities, she served as president of International Students Association and recently got involved in GU Art Aficionados, Juggling Club, and Georgetown Journal of International Affairs. She also enjoys painting, jujitsu, snowboarding, and traveling, and her latest musician crush is Ed Sheeran.
Edward is a member of the Georgetown University Class of 2020 in the School of Foreign Service. Edward is originally from Montreal, Canada, but went to boarding school at The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut where he played both soccer and lacrosse. Now at Georgetown University, he is an active member of the Georgetown University Student Investment Fund, he is a member of the Residential Judicial Committee, and he is Chair of Events on the executive board of the Georgetown University HeForShe initiative with UN women. Edward enjoys doing work on the lawn and visiting museums in D.C. whenever he has time. He speaks English, French, and Spanish.
Paul Sze Keat Keh
Paul is a member of the Class of 2020 and a student in the School of Foreign Service (SFS), planning to major in international politics. He was born and raised in cosmopolitan Singapore, but Paul has a strong interest in international relations and a passion for sports and the outdoors. At Georgetown University he is involved in the Georgetown University Knights of Columbus, the GU International Students Association, and Club Singapore. He hopes to engage in community service projects in the future and enjoys evening runs along the waterfront. Paul is seriously passionate about food, and when there's time, photography, guitar, and non-fiction.
Clara is a member of the Georgetown University Class of 2020, majoring in Political Economy and minoring in Business Administration with a certificate in Asian Studies. Born in Paris, raised by a Spanish nanny, spent all her summers in the UK and the US, and studied Chinese for three years, Clara considers herself as a true global citizen. At Georgetown, Clara is involved in Breaking the Bubble, French and European clubs, Ballroom Dance Team, and Georgetown Collegiate Investors. She loves traveling, exploring new countries, discovering new cultures and meeting new people.
Bianca is a member of the Georgetown University Class of 2020, majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) with a concentration in Security in the School of Foreign Service (SFS). Bianca is Brazilian-American and grew up her whole life in Los Angeles, California which she will proudly defend as the best state in the US. Growing up, she was heavily involved in dance, music, and volleyball. At Georgetown, Bianca travels with the Model UN team and plays with the Georgetown Orchestra. She enjoys exploring DC with her friends and is constantly searching for where she can find more coffee.
Yuting (Grace) Wu
Grace is from Beijing, China, and studying in the College, Class of 2020. She attended Taft School in Connecticut and has lived in the U.S. for five years. In addition to her interest in International Politics and Development, Grace also loves fitness and spin classes. Grace advises new students to talk to people, including professors, and make new friends because they will be the ones who support you when are far away from home.
Yu (Jack) Xiao
Jack is a member of the Georgetown University of Class of 2018, majoring in Economics. Originally born in Guangzhou, China, Jack is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Jack has recently studied abroad in Korea and Japan where he improved his Japanese and Korean language skills and developed a deeper understanding of the Asian economic market. Now back on GU's main campus, Jack is the Minister of Organization Department of the Chinese Student Scholar Association and Safety Captain of the Georgetown Badminton Club. He enjoys hanging out with friends and trying different kinds food and restaurants. When there is time in his schedule, Jack loves to make a cup of tea and chat with friends.
James is a member of MBA Class of 2018. Originally born in Jakarta, Indonesia, James spent 8.5 years in Boston, MA before moving to Washington, DC last year. James majored in Computer Science at Northeastern University and worked as Software Developer for Follett Corporation. At Georgetown University he is an active member of MBA clubs such as Technology Club, Consulting Club, and Asian Business Consortium. James also enjoys hanging out with friends and playing sports, especially soccer/futsal. When there is time in his schedule, James likes to explore new places in DC.
Lin is a first-year student in Georgetown's Culture, Communication, and Technology program. Born in China, Lin finished her first two years of college in Beijing, China, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication from Ohio State University in 2016. With rich experiences in learning Journalism and Communication, Lin likes meeting and making friends with people from all over the world. Lin enjoys music, especially Brit-pop and EDM. She loves playing guitar and ukulele, and often covering songs with friends in her spare time.
Kaneemozhe (Kinu) Harichandran
Kinu is a Ph.D. student in the Microbiology and Immunology department at Georgetown. Originally born in India, Kinu spent most of her life in South India where she was active in animal rescue missions and taught the classical south Indian dance, Bharathanatyam. At Georgetown, she represents her department and continues her dance career in DC. Kinu also enjoys biking and cooking. Outside of her study in virology, Kinu has a passion for astrophysics and hopes to meet her idol, Neal DeGrasse Tyson.
Yang is a member of the Georgetown University Graduate School of Art and Science, majoring in Communication, Culture & Technology. Originally born in China, Yang has lived out most of his life in the Southern part of China where he was active in debate training and journalism practice. Now at Georgetown University, he is an active member of the New Media in Asia (and Beyond) Research Group with a focus on the history in the superhero movies. As a technology correspondent, he is also enthusiastic about everything that’s creative and innovative.
Yi is a master candidate of the Georgetown University Class of 2018, majoring in Analytics and Data Science. Yi comes from China, and she received her bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics from Shanghai University. Yi enjoys finding patterns from data and is interested in attending coding events at Georgetown. Yi also enjoys visiting museums in DC with friends, cooking and watching American and English dramas.
Aeint Thet Ngon
Aeint is a masters’ student at Georgetown University class of 2018 in the Analytics Program, with a concentration in Data Science. Originally born in Myanmar, Aeint is Chinese-Burmese, who spend four years in Iowa for undergraduate, where she was actively involved in cultural diversity clubs at her college. Aeint enjoys reading a variety of books, music, cooking, and knitting. She also likes to explore the city and cuisines from different countries.
Rahul is an MS Biotechnology student at the Biomedical Graduate Education department at Georgetown. He was born in Mumbai, India and completed his Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences there. He is a huge sports fan and loves soccer, cricket and tennis. He is a die-hard fan of Manchester United & Roger Federer and can spend hours talking about them.
Tianning is a Master in Economics at Georgetown University, graduating Summer 2018. She is originally from South Eastern China and spent four years at Stony Brook University in New York for her bachelor degrees in Math and Economics. After graduating from Stony Brook, she took a gap year to intern as a Financial Associate and a Marketing Assistant in China. Tianning enjoys the beautiful views of Washington D.C., going out with friends, hiking, and discovering new restaurants. She loves traveling. Last winter she went to Cuba and made some really cool Cuban friends.
