The Division of International Student and Scholar Services (IS) is the University’s liaison to U.S. governmental agencies on matters relating to international students and scholars studying and working in the United States. IS also serves as a resource to Departments who wish to admit, invite, or hire international students, researchers, faculty, staff, and student interns by helping them understand the pertinent federal regulations, determining the appropriate visa classification, issuing visa documents and filing Department of Labor and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) petitions.
On this site, administrators who work closely with international students will find resources to assist them in supporting this population at Georgetown while also ensuring University compliance with federal immigration regulations.
Department administrators will also find information on inviting and hiring international researchers, faculty, staff and student interns.
Please contact an IS staff member with any questions.
