Global Expo 2017: Connect Lives, Share Cultures
Global Futsal Tournament: Friday, April 7th at 5pm, Yates Field House
Global Expo: Saturday, April 8th at 1pm, Copley Lawn
Global Expo is a weekend of celebrating the international diversity of Georgetown, sponsored by the International Student Association and Office of Global Services! Join us Saturday afternoon for this gathering of student cultural groups from across campus on Copley Lawn. Learn more about how you or your student group can become part of one of the biggest international events on campus, and receive up to $200 in funding if you host a food both or activity! The International Student Association will be taking applications for food booths, performers, and cultural activities. Applications to participate in Global Expo and the Futsal Tournament are now closed.
How can I participate?
Register a team for the second annual GU Futsal tournament! That's right, not football, not soccer, but the international sport of Futsal! Teams can consist up of to ten (10) players with five (5) players on the court at a time. Registration fee is $10/player which includes, snacks, drinks, certified refs, t-shirts and medals for the top 3 teams.
Host a table in our food booth section to share food from your home country or culture. Food booths can receive up to $200 in funding in order to either buy food from local restaurants to share or purchase ingredients to cook your own dishes. OGS provides all cutlery, plates, and drinks, so all you need to bring is yourself and the food! We recommend having two students per group staff each table throughout the event in order to collect tickets and serve food.
Perform on the White Gravenor Esplanade or Copley Lawn during Global Expo! Speakers and a DJ are supplied by OGS. Past performances have included music and dance, but we welcome applications from all types of performers!
Does your group want to host another event, demo, activity, display or something else that doesn't fall into the above categories? Email your proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org - all ideas are welcome!
