International Graduate Orientation (IGO)

Each August, the International Graduate Orientation (IGO) program provides a two-day program of information sessions and social events for new graduate students entering the university in F-1 or J-1 status. Information sessions focus on academic life, immigration regulations, health care, employment, and much more. IGO provides new graduate students in F-1 or J-1 status with an opportunity to meet faculty, staff, and fellow students in their first days at Georgetown.

Although students are encouraged to attend the entire orientation program, all students in F-1 and J-1 status are REQUIRED to attend the mandatory Immigration & Compliance Session, and the US Cultural and Academic Integrity Session in order to stay in status. OGS encourages all students to take full advantage of all the programming offered, however, all students in F-1 and J-1 status are automatically registered for IGO and charged a $35 new student orientation fee regardless of whether or not they attend optional events.

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE ORIENTATION DATES: August 21-22, 2017

DETAILED SCHEDULE COMING SOON. Locations and events are subject to change. Students will be emailed a finalized schedule in August.
