Fall International Student Orientations
OGS hosts an orientation program of information sessions and social events for F-1 and J-1 international students who are starting a new degree, certificate, or exchange program at the Georgetown Main Campus in Summer or Fall 2020. Interactive sessions focus on academic life, immigration regulations, healthcare, employment, and other topics critical to success at Georgetown.
All students in F-1 and J-1 status are automatically registered for orientation and will incur a $50 international orientation fee.
All F-1 and J-1 international students must complete their Immigration Document Review by the program start date printed on their Georgetown Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 and must attend International Student Orientation.
OGS offers a customized International Student Orientation for the following programs:
- Business Administration, MBA: September 4, 2020
- Business Administration, MBA (Exchange): September 3, 2020
- Health and the Public Interest, MS: TBA
- Physiology, Special Master’s (Main Campus): TBA
- Physiology, Special Master’s (Downtown): August 12, 2020
- Medicine, MD: TBA
For all other international graduate students, OGS will hold an International Student Orientation August 16 – August 18, 2020. Please check back for a detailed schedule of events.
Sunday, August 16: Optional Meet & Greet 5-6:30pm
Monday, August 17: Mandatory Sessions 9am-1pm, Optional Sessions 1-4pm
Tuesday, August 18: Optional Events
Orientation activities begin on August 20, 2020 for students attending Bachelor’s degree programs, GU-Q students taking courses on the Main Campus, and undergraduate exchange students. OGS partners with New Student Orientation (NSO) to offer a combined orientation experience for international undergraduate students. Please check back for a detailed schedule of events.

U.S. citizens, dual citizens and permanent residents who have lived outside the U.S. for the majority of their life and feel International Orientation would ease their adjustment to U.S. culture are welcome to register with this form. (Undergraduate only)
*If you are requesting an F-1/J-1 immigration document from Georgetown, you do not need to register on this form.
Students will continue to join New Student Orientation (NSO) starting on the evening of Friday, August 21 to Tuesday, August 25.
